Lake Vermilion Fishing Report – East End

The shallow walleye bite in the rocks is going strong on leeches and crawlers fished on bobbers and by casting crank baits.  These fish are stuffed with crayfish as the crayfish are molting and are easy prey for all species of fish.  Even perch are feeding heavily on crayfish right now!  Once the sun comes out these fish can be found in 20′ of water near the shallow rocks and can be caught using Lindy Rigs with crawlers and leeches.

The walleyes have not moved out to the mid lake humps yet, but some fish should be found out there in the coming weeks.

The muskie bite is still a little slow but the amount of muskie activity seems to be picking up daily.
