Lake Vermilion East End Fishing Report
The walleye fishing on Vermilion continues to be good if you are on the lake at the right time. With the amount of forage in the lake, the fish have plenty to choose from and are often well fed and hard to coax into eating although they are visible on your electronics. When the bite windows are occurring it can be fast and furious. When the walleyes are reluctant to bite trolling with lead core and down riggers in Frazier Bay and Niles Bay has been producing some nice fish. Don’t be afraid to try shallow even though the water is warm when the wind is blowing.
Crappies are biting on the deep weed edges in Wake em Up Bay area and are a great way to get some action when the walleyes aren’t biting. These deep weeds are also holding some nice size pike.
The Large Mouth Bass are biting well on the west end of the lake and seem to be biting best on spinner baits.
