Propellers and Deadheads Don’t Play Well Together

This propeller met this floating deadhead in Vermilion’s Pike Bay some time ago. The outcome was not pretty. One blade and a portion of the propeller hub remain embedded in the log.

The Vermilion Lake Association asks for your help in reporting or removing any submerged logs that have floated to the surface. If you can, please tow these deadheads out of the traffic lanes and secure them at the shoreline. Alternatively, contact any lake association board member with the location. GPS coordinates would be great. We’ll arrange for someone to take care of the hazard.
