Lake Vermilion Fishing Report
The walleye bite continues to be an early morning flurry so get on the water as early as you can. If you find the cray fish, you will find the walleyes, but keeping the cray fish off your bait is half the battle. Try a floating Lindy rig or pulling spinners on bottom bouncers to try and avoid them. The walleye are relating to the sand and the sand to rock transitions have been best. The best bait continues to be worms.
Muskie fisherman are still connecting with quite a few fish. With these muskies feeding on large prey this time of year, they can often be found resting in the warm shallow water digesting their last meal in mid day until they need to feed again. The muskies are reacting well to large black buck tails with orange blades.
