Lake Vermilion Fishing Report – East End
The walleyes are cooperating better this week on the reefs and rocky shore lines. A floating Lindy rig has been helping keep the bait out of the rocks and helps avoid the cray fish. 18 to 24 feet seems to produce the most consistent action. Lead core and down rigger fishing is starting to show some descent results out on the mud flats. Perch colored crank baits and spinner blades are working well.
Muskies are showing up on the shallow rocks and weed edges with buck tails taking a fair number of fish this week. The open water fish have seen many baits go by them over the past month and that bite is slowing down.
Bass fishing has been best with drop shot rigs on the deeper structure with early mornings being the best. Crayfish colored plastics are working well.
