Lake Vermilion Fishing Report – West End

Some crappies being caught off and on in shallow mud basins, not necessarily on the banks.

The walleye bite has fluctuated lately with the cold fronts and rain.  Many anglers are finding a good bite and some are struggling.  The bobber fishing is landing some female fish on rock humps and rock outcroppings, with minnows producing better than leeches.

Some males still being caught deep, but seems to be slowing down a bit.  On rigs, the minnows are also out-producing leeches and crawlers during these colder temperatures.
